About: Alex Bednenko

I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to Brooklyn in 1993. I picked up playing tennis at 11 years old and played throughout my preteen and teenage years. After high school I stopped playing tennis and began my studies in nursing.

I began training Jiu jitsu with Josh Griffiths in 2008 at the age of 22 because i missed playing sports and being active, and by doing so found something that changed my life.

I am now a purple belt under Josh Griffiths and have been training for a little over two and a half years. Because of Jiu Jitsu my confidence is through the roof and I have never been more healthy or athletic. My passion now is to take the knowledge I have of Jiu Jitsu and pass it along to others.
