About: Karen Miller

I grew up in Atlanta, GA and started Jiu Jitsu in 2004 while in college. I was attracted to it because it's challenging and rewarding in many ways and because, for a woman, it's practical. In 2007 I started competing at a national and international level and a year later I started teaching. I love teaching whether it's to teenagers, parents, competitors, or those doing it just for fun. I love to see people learn and I learn a lot in the process as well.
I moved to New York in August 2010 and Clockwork was the first place I checked out. It's full of awesome people and I never imagined before moving here that I would be welcomed by any Jiu Jitsu school as warmly as I have been here. Josh is an excellent, thoughtful, and approachable instructor and I'm excited to be a part of his school. I recommend Clockwork to anyone and interested in Jiu Jitsu.
